Toby’s Estate Coffee roasters is a specialty coffee roaster and retailer that originated from Woolloomooloo, Sydney, Australia. The name of the place and their signature blend, Woolloomolloo, seems too cute but don’t be fooled as they are serious about their coffee. They take pride on their espresso-based drinks, ensuring quality in every cup of it’s Specialty Coffee.
The term ‘Specialty coffee’ is used to refer to coffee that is graded 80 points or above on a 100 point scale by a certified coffee taster from the Specialty Coffee of America (SCAA) or by a licensed Q Grader from the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI). Toby’s Estate points, if I’m not mistaken, is at 86 points! That’s undeniably, unbelievably awesome coffee!
And now, Toby’s Estate is sharing another coffee story by putting Single Origins on the spotlight. Now, we always hear of “Single Origin“, but do we truly know what it is? In simple terms, it is coffee originating from a single geographic area or region only. The fact that you know where your coffee is from, it is known to be a specific coffee, not a blend. This usually denotes that the coffee bean and the taste is of higher quality and very unique since it came from a particular coffee farm.
Toby’s Estate will be launching a NEW Single Origin Espresso every month partnered with one of their staples, bringing in more colour and flavour to their current selections.
So the first of the Toby’s Estate Single Origin Espresso Series that will be released this March 5 is the COSTA RICA EL JAGUAR coming from farms above 1,500 meters above sea-level located in the Tarrazu region; which is believed to be the source of Costa Rica’s highest quality coffee.
It’s unique milling process amplifies it’s body bringing out it’s chocolate & caramel notes with a velvety long finish giving it a fully-rounded & balanced cup. It possesses a complex and intense acidity with citric sweet notes.

And what’s more exciting is that, in time for summer, Toby’s Estate will also be releasing their Cold Brew this March! Choose from two variants of cold brew that has been slow-steeped for 18 hours using specialty Arabica blend, resulting to a smooth, complex and full-bodies brew.
The Black Brew is the more bold and smooth with hints of chocolate and has a nutty finish while the White Brew (which I totally love!) is more creamy and sweet with a milk chocolate finish and notes of toffee. The perfect drinks to perk you up and cool you down during the expected return of the summer heat, the perfect combination of sensations!
